This Barrister’s Chambers provides a calm, efficient and elegantly finished workspace, with clearly articulated zones, from entry and meeting areas to private work stations. With efficient spatial planning, extensive concealed storage, and a unifying material palette, the interior feels significantly more generous than its modest 30.3m2 floor area. Key furniture pieces were custom-designed. The space reflects the client’s character, featuring works from his art collection, an aquarium and antique books. While the interior provides a space to work and think, it also encourages social and professional interaction with colleagues – making a subtle contribution to workplace culture. The project was completed in 2010.
The interior won a commendation award in the small projects category at the Australian Institute of Architects (AIA) 2011 Brisbane Regional Architecture Awards.
